Natalie is the first (and only) babysitter we’ve worked with outside of family and close friends, so starting the process to find someone we could trust felt like a big project. We had an initial phone call, and while she was easy to speak with, more importantly I was able to get a sense for her experience, background and what was important to her when working with a family. We had similar values, and she was closely aligned to the type of individual and environment we wanted for our 18-month-old son, Jonathon. This quickly started putting my mind at ease. She offered to come to our house for a “meet and greet” with Jonathon. During that meeting she was immediately engaging and quick to connect with him. She asked a lot of questions to understand his growth and development milestones as well as his specific personality, routines and preferences. Jonathon is excited each time Natalie comes over. The time she spends with him is much more than her “watching” him. She invests her time and energy with Jonathon by playing and engaging with him in activities that create interaction and support his development. She’s great at getting him outside and has curated a network of places, activities and opportunities to get out into the community as well. As a mother, she sends lots of pictures and updates, which is great for me. Our family has Natalie care for Jonathon once/month sitting (i.e. date nights, events, etc.), but we’ve also been able to use her for additional jobs and overnight stays. She’s responsive and always transparent about her availability and fee structure. We feel fortunate to have connected with Natalie when we did and grateful for the time she spends with our son.
